A Little About Us..

Family owned since 1932, Russell’s Of Neillsville has been part of the Neillsville community for over 80 years. Art and Edna (Tragsdorf) Russell opened Russell’s Hardware store in 1932, after borrowing only $500. The original Russell’s Hardware was located on 5th street, where the current Professional Building parking lot is. In 1941, Russell’s Hardware moved to its location on Hewitt Street, where it remained until 2002.

After co-founder Art Russell passed away in 1945, the tool store was taken over by Art and Edna’s daughter and her husband Glen. Glen and Metty made many changes and innovations to the store and soon started carrying Appliances, Floor Coverings, and Furniture. After staying in the Hewitt Street location for almost 60 years, Glenn and Metty built an all-new location on W 8th Street, where we currently stand today.

As a 4th generation family-owned company, Russell’s Of Neillsville knows what it means to be part of this community.
